Frequently Asked Questions for Education
Q) Do I need to take the CPIM review courses/exams in any particular order?
A) No, however we do recommend that you take the Basics of Supply Chain Management (BSCM)
course first and the Strategic Management of Resources (SMR) exam last.
The BSCM course is a general foundation for the other modules, and the SMR exam is the
capstone for all modules.
Q) Is attending the review course the only preparation I will need to pass the exam?
A) The review course is one step to your preparation for the exam. However, self-study and
additional resource materials is highly recommended.
Q) How do I become a CPIM review course instructor?
A) To be qualified instructor, the applicant must be CPIM certified or be an accredited
instructor in the field of Supply Chain Management.
