This position is responsible for the
management of the Warehouse Dock and
Replenishment functions at Crown Point and
Pacific street locations.
The incumbent is responsible for the following:
All receiving, shipping, material
inspection, replenishment, capacity, and
inventory management of the Crown
Point and Pacific warehouses.
The overall team performance and to
meet and/or exceed company goals and
objectives.
Managing the the performance and ongoing
development of direct reports
through timely coaching and counseling,
positive reinforcement, honest, and
direct feedback.
Day to day leadership provided for direct
reports
Monitoring CPWU on a continual basis
and maintaining overall cost through
effective staff,equipment,and supply
utilization.
Match staffing and scheduling to volume
requirements and implement staffing
changes as appropriate.
Meet or exceed internal turnaround
standards and product quality levels.
Identify and implement cost control
measures to eliminate unnecessary
expense.
Educate team members on various
aspects of the business including client
relationships, financial impacts, sales
and retention.
Review, maintain,create and update
departmental operations procedural
manuals as required.
Assure compliance with OSHA
requirements
Develop technical knowledge of the
various warehouse and inventory
management systems.
Complete special projects and other
duties as assigned.
Analyze and implement more efficient
methods to improve material movement
and reduce the number of times the
material is moved or handled and to
maximize overall capacity of the
warehouses.

Position Overview: Responsible for all aspects of production planning including master
production scheduling, shop floor assembly scheduling, inventory management and control,
labor and capacity planning, and managing changes to Bills of Material and Bills of
Operation. Responsible for supervising the Assembly personnel, BIO Stockroom/Receiving/Shipping
personnel and all associated functions to ensure the group works effectively to accomplish
operational, quality, and customer service targets. Responsible for identifying, facilitating,
and implementing operational improvements to all BIO processes. Responsible for directing and
executing the training, development, and overall performance of the BIO Operations team(s),
including performance appraisals and disciplinary actions.
 
Professional Qualifications:
 
Education: Bachelors degree is required. A Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering
highly preferred; however, with appropriate job experience, a Bachelors degree in a technical,
scientific, operations management, or related field may be considered.
 
Experience & Skills:
 
· Minimum of five (5) years of experience in planning and manufacturing-related work.
· Minimum of five (5) years of supervisory and/or group leader experience.
· Familiar with Shipping, Receiving, and Warehouse practices.
· Familiar with the APICS body of knowledge.
· Experience in concept and application of Lean Manufacturing practices and Continuous
Improvement methodology.

Position Responsibilities:
 
PRODUCTION PLANNING:
· Develop and maintain the long range Master Production Plan for all required products.
· Generate, publish, and dispatch Assembly schedules and associated Work Orders that support the Master Production Plan.
· Coordinate and facilitate the monthly BIO Sales & Operation Planning process.
· Generate and publish Labor Capacity plans that support the Master Production Plan. Coordinate required labor with production schedules.
· General administration of ERP (DataFlo) and associated system(s) MPS, MRP, QCP, MMI, MWO, CRP, MCC, MLC, and MES.
· Monitor, manage, and report inventory levels for all categories of stocked items, work-in-process, and finished goods. Recommend and implement sound inventory management practices.
· Track, report, and publish all pertinent Key Performance Indicators and metrics for the BIO Operations unit.
· Coordinate and facilitate weekly scheduling meetings to develop short-term and long range planning of materials, resources, and capacity.
· Participate in project planning teams as required.
 
MANUFACTURING / ASSEMBLY:
· Coordinate the production schedule in accordance with the projections, identifying resource needs. Facilitate daily schedule meetings, interface with Assembly Team, and monitor progress against the schedule. Dispatch Work Order assignments to Assemblers in accordance with production schedule sequence & priority.
· As required, assist on new and existing product issues, part number assignment, and provide manufacturings interface to Engineering and Supply Chain. Implement Change Orders to transition in/out all old/new parts. Coordinate rework and recalls.
· Continually review material availability, material problems, and quality issues. Troubleshoot problem parts and coordinate resolution with appropriate personnel from Engineering, Technicians, and Supply Chain.
· Perform incoming inspection on all purchased parts, in-process quality checks on WIP items, and final quality check on finished goods.
· Train employees in procedures and company policies.
· Calibrate all required BIO items. Maintain the tool & fixture database.
· Design/Develop ISO process controls as required.
· Provide response to technical, procedural, and quality problems as needed.
· Participate in project planning teams as required.
· Track, report, and publish all pertinent Key Performance Indicators and metrics for the BIO Operations unit.
· Monitor and report Assembly efficiencies against standard times; recommend and maintain standard times in Bill of Operations. Analyze current practices and implement improvements to reduce cycle time and improve Assembly efficiencies.
 
SHIPPING / RECEIVING / STOCKROOM:
· Supervise the Shipping, Receiving, and Stockroom areas to ensure efficient operation.
· Coordinate the daily shipping schedule in accordance with required ship dates. Prioritize, evaluate, and assign work to personnel to meet shipping schedules.
· Train employees in procedures and company policies.
· Oversee regulatory compliance with regard to manufacturing and shipping (FDA laser annual reports, CE, RoHS, IATA, and DOT).
· Track, monitor, and report shipping performance.
· Ensure inventory transactions are accurate, and remediate any incorrect entries. Ensure accuracy in periodic cycle counting, making appropriate adjustments for discrepancies.
· Administer Stockroom activities: picking, kitting, issuing, and receiving Work Orders.
· Supervise parts flow, particularly for plated parts and collection of items for staging & shipping.

Execute the supply schedule using SAP planning modules to ensure on-time delivery

Monitor and follow up on order status. Communication (phone, email, fax, etc.) and
resolution of order status and problems with vendors, carriers and internal customers.
Expedites materials from vendors when there are delays in delivery.
